Students at the University of Minnesota were treated to a tour of the General Mills headquarters to experience what it’s like to work at the hub for this popular food brand. Using Oculus Rift headsets, participants experienced 360-degree views as they moved around the virtual world, allowing them to visit the offices without the time or expense associated with travel.

Farmers Insurance
The combination of onboarding and training is a big part of recruitment, and Farmers takes advantage of the power of VR to offer a new kind of experience. After investing $400,000 in VR equipment, the insurance company exponentially expanded the number of “damage scenarios” it could set up for its agents. Instead of a single test home, Farmers can now send employees through a variety of virtual floor plans and have them assess a range of different damage types so that they’re better prepared to evaluate real-life claims.

Branded as a direct competitor to Amazon and boasting a unique company culture, Jet uses VR to show candidates around its New York City headquarters. Jet was established in 2015 and is leveraging the growing popularity of VR in recruiting to show how a fun, easygoing atmosphere and open workspace layout sets it apart.

By using virtual reality, personal injury lawyers at Lamber Goodnow are recreating the entire accident, and how the injury happened, in order to make it easier for members of the jury to understand how the injury happened, and who caused it. It is quickly becoming an effective tool.

Delancey Street, an investment bank that does hard money loans and reverse merger transactions, is using VR to help it’s investors see a property before investing into it.

Young candidates were curious about the design culture at Intuit, so the company decided to bring VR tours to a design fair at the University of Washington. The concept proved to be extremely popular among students, and Intuit was able to express the culture of its company by allowing interested attendees to experience the atmosphere of a typical day on the job.
